Estimating Jobs is a beginners class on how to put together an estimate. It covers takeoffs from electronic blueprints, organizing the estimate, and figuring your overhead and profit.
A basic understanding of excel is needed. (includes energy code)
Backflow Prevention teaches the proper way to install backflow prevention devices.  Completion of the backflow training will certify you with the state of Utah to install these devices.

Ken Adams

Utah Valley University Professor
Ken Adams is a construction management professor at Utah Valley University and has been in the construction industry for the past 25 years. He has always had a passion for construction and thoroughly enjoys going to work each day. While earning his construction management degree he worked for Mountain Fuel (now Dominion Energy). Afterwards he moved to South Carolina and worked as superintendent and project manger for six years when Paul Magleby convinced him to move back to Utah and run Magleby Construction’s remodel division. Since then he has been heavily involved in the NAHB Remodelers and served as SLHBA Remodelers chair person in 2009 and has been part of the NAHB Green committee.

Greg Hand

Greg Hand is a licensed Master Plumber. He has taught in the Apprenticeship Plumbing Program at Salt Lake Community College for 30 years, at nights, along with being a full time plumber with over 40 years of experience in the plumbing field. He holds an AAS Degree from Salt Lake Community College, Professional Educators License for the State of Utah, Class III Backflow Certification, Utah Chapter President of the American Backflow Prevention Association 1996-1998, and the Utah Chapter Meritorious Service Award in 2002. Greg has taught backflow certification classes since 1985.
